Made in America 18With the level of entertainment Washington, DC has to offer I am typically reluctant to leave town. But there is always need for a road trip and mini vacation during the holidays. So this past Labor Day Weekend ROC Nation, Live Nation and Budweiser presented the Made in America Festival in the City of Brotherly Love aka Philadelphia as well as Los Angeles. Thanks to Automotive Rhythms all roads led to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway by way of the 2015 Kia K900 luxury liner to attend this spectacular musical extravaganza.

For the past three years Jay Z has managed to pull together an all-star cast of musicians to electrify the 2-day festival. On day one patrons enjoyed the sounds of J. Cole, Baauer, Steve Aoki and a few more key artists from various music genres. Kanye West headlined the show with a thrilling set throughout and even managed to express some of his controversial thoughts about numerous issues including the passion behind his music.

Day two the energy continued strong despite a break in the show due to unforeseen thunderstorms. The Made in America staff executed an evacuation of the crowd from the grounds without causing a panic; with most proceeding to the Philadelphia streets seeking shelter until the storm passed. Other attendees scurried to the Philadelphia Fountain and decided to throw their own party. Once the announcement was made that the show was back on everyone filled back into the jubilee and enjoyed the melodies of YG, Pharrell Williams, Tiesto and of course headliner Kings of Leon.

3 Made in America 9With 80,000 attendees descending upon the Made in America Festival, it proved the ideal setting to unveil our Kia K900. After leaving the DC Metro area the ride up to PA was smooth, ultra quiet and immaculate to say the least. Expressions from passing travelers and the random comments (is that really a Kia) by toll workers let me know that the Koreans have raised the bar with this touring sedan. The 900-watt, 17 speaker, 12 channel Lexicon Logic 7 surround audio system kept us entertained, 24.8 mpg was pleasing to the wallet and the power lumbar support in the driver’s seat made the trip very comfortable. And who doesn’t love the grip of a wood steering wheel? Showgoers stated they have yet to witness the Korean ride live but heard it was out and were pleased with what they witnessed. Music, cars, fashion and technology all blend in some capacity and the Made in America Festival proved just that. Automotive Rhythms’ K900 left a lasting impression as much as the vibes from the performers.

This was yet another well-organized spectacle with musical acts, food for days, an embedded carnival and even a skating park. It will be delightful to see what Jay Z and Budweiser have in store for us next year.
