The Ford F250 in a series of Super Duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since 1999. The fifth-generation Super Duty was revealed in September 2022 with production having started in 2023. I was excited to get a chance to get some seat time with this big beast.

Upon first look you notice the prominent SUPERDUTY lettering on the hood, as well as the gloss black front recovery hooks. The model that we reviewed came in an argon blue metallic hue. The Super Duty has LED reflector headlamps and LED fog lights. At night, the lights from the side-view mirrors illuminate very brightly, assisting in various tasks. In the rear, the Super Duty has a tailgate equipped with available power up/down capability, a retractable tailgate step for easier bed access, with LED perimeter lighting. There is also right-hand and left-hand side bedside storage, gooseneck / 5th Wheel Prep Package and four tie-downs. The rear literally turns into a work surface or a bench. The Platinum model that we reviewed features 20-inch high-gloss painted wheels.

The interior is plush, decked out with leather a heated and leather wrapped steering wheel, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, heated rear outer seats, power sunroof and a fold-out surface from the center console that creates a space for a workstation. Ford designed the interior with Venetian Leather with French Stitching in Black Onyx with Platinum Blue accents. I would definitely place this in the luxurious category.

The Ford F250 Super Duty has a 12-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 12-inch fully digital instrument cluster with customizable displays. The SYNC 4 infotainment system includes Navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, a rear-seat entertainment system, a 120-volt outlet, 2.0 kW of power through outlets in the cabin and bed, plus a mobile hotspot. The F250 also comes with a premium 14-speaker B&O Unleashed Sound System, that is crystal clear with studio quality sound. I had to keep reminding myself that this in indeed a work truck because it has all the features, that most of the luxury vehicles that I receive to review have in them.

Driving the F250 is raw as it has a high-output version of the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine, coupled with a 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission producing up to 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. The diesel powertrain is quick and smooth. Braking was relatively smooth and responsive as well.  This is a big vehicle to move around in but it is more than powerful to get up to speed when needed.

The safety features added to the F250 are much needed with features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, trailer tire pressure monitor sensors, front and rear parking sensors, forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking. The F250 also as Head-Up Display, Front and reverse sensing systems, Standard Driver Assistance (Ford Co-Pilot360), Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and BLIS with cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage. There is a 360-degree camera with split-view display and a 360-degree trailer camera package. Features such as Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist are great features to have when on the job.

Ford provides a competitive warranty plan for the 2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty. It comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain coverage (gas/diesel), 5 years/60,000 miles Safety Restraint System warranty, 5-year/unlimited-mile corrosion coverage, and 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance. A 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain extension is available for commercial customers with a Ford Identification Number (FIN).

The Ford F250 is in a highly competitive class going up against the Ram 2500, Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and the GMC Sierra 2500HD. Heavy-duty pickup trucks such as this one are supposed to be workhorses rather than show stoppers, but the 2026 Ford F250 succeeds in both departments. The Super Duty trucks and chassis-cabs are assembled at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and at the Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake, Ohio.  The model that we tested is priced at $105,235.00. Overall, I really enjoyed the F250. It can knock out the job that you throw at it and look good in the process. Please enjoy my photo gallery.
