This past weekend, Harley-Davidson of Washington, DC (HDDC) hosted the 2017 Iron Elite festival. Iron Elite is the outreach initiative launched by Harley-Davidson (H-D) to recognize the contributions and roles African-American’s have played throughout the motorcycle community by showcasing the rich history, inspiring stories and the custom bikes.
This year’s HDDC Iron Elite festival was bigger than ever with the addition of Bagger Boyz and Back Yard Baggers. Bagger Boyz kicked off the festivities on Friday night with the official Meet-n-Greet/Listening Party. The rain did not stop the riders that came out in droves to talk shop and grudge battle with some of the top audio people in town. There was a fish fry, sound cypher and a plethora of vendors onsite. Outsider Leatherwork displayed a fine assortment of custom leather goods, there was pinstriping by Smitty’s Pinstriping LLC, Cigars 210 was on deck for all the cigar lovers and the SnapOn truck offered some great promotions for all at the event.
The weather dried up just in time for the main event on Saturday at HDDC with live music from the Vybe Band, vendors, tiki bar, food trucks, H-D Demo truck, sound competition hosted by Bagger Boyz and Back Yard Baggers, custom bike and car show, workshops, seminars and more. The Iron Elite patch and T-shirt were a big hit and flew off the shelves. There was also a demo fleet on site giving you the opportunity to test out the latest and greatest motorcycles that Harley Davidson has to offer. This was a fun and family oriented event that was well attended and enjoyed by all. I sincerely hope that Harley Davidson and more continue to support this magnificent event. Enjoy the photo gallery.
