The 2024 Hyundai Elantra HEV Limited Edition set the tone as being the stylish vehicle to tote the family around in land of palm trees, sunny skies and art mural walls. The Hyundai Elantra is a compact car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 1990. This hybrid sedan is a commuters dream. It is great for a week of shopping, darting around the town and hauling family around.

The getaway was a well-needed break from the hustle and bustle of Washington D.C. Not saying that Miami is a lethargic town but it is quite relaxing to rise early for morning runs on the beach, relaxing at the pool and dining at the local cafes, while enjoying good food and taking in the sights.

Hyundai provided us with an Amazon Gray hue 2024 Elantra HEV Limited edition that shined so bright when the sun hit it.  The Elantra is eye-catching as soon as you see the long sloping hood that leads to the prominent Hyundai symbol. Hyundai has beautifully designed the exterior with its’ steeply raked windshield and sweeping rear end.  This sleek sedan sits on 17-inch alloy wheels. There are also LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED brake lights, power sunroof and heated side mirrors with turn signal indicators.

Driving the Hyundai Elantra around town was a pleasure. Inside is an equally lovely cabin, with soft-touch surfaces on the front door panels. The Limited trim model that we reviewed had H-Tex trimmed seats that looked and felt quite nice. The Heated & Ventilated Front Bucket seats include a 6-way adjustable power driver’s seat w/lumbar support and height adjustment, Integrated Memory System (IMS) w/seat easy access and 4-way adjustable front passenger seat w/height adjustment and seat back pocket.

Technology is not lost in the Elantra. The dashboard features a 10.25-inch color display touchscreen paired with the digital instrument cluster that has a one-piece look of the instrument panel and infotainment screen makes the Elantra’s dashboard a very sleek design. The Limited model that tested has the eight-speaker Bose audio system that kept us grooving during our ventures. It was a pleasure to be able to choose from Sirius XM, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto bring a whole new bounty of possibilities to the Hyundai experience. The Elantra Limited has a wireless charging pad, Wi-Fi hot spot capability, and a USB-C charging port. Backseat passengers get a pair of USB-C charging ports.

I do wish the Elantra had a bit more power because the Elantra is not peppy at all. There is a slight pickup in sport mode, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. The 135 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, 1.6L four-cylinder hybrid engine is paired with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The Elantra HEV was very good on gas averaging 49 mpg in the city, 52 mpg on the highway and 50 mpg combined. Hybrid powertrains still remain rather rare in the mainstream compact-car category but I see this changing as the EV backlash continues to grow.

Key safety features in the Elantra include a Cruise Control-Steering Assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS And Driveline Traction Control, Side Impact Beams, Dual Stage Driver and Passenger Seat-Mounted Side Airbags, Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW) Blind Spot, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) Lane Departure Warning and many more that are included.

Hyundai has a great warranty package that includes 5 Basic years / 60,000 Basic miles, 10 Drivetrain years / 100,000 Drivetrain miles, 7 Corrosion years / Unlimited Corrosion miles, 10 Hybrid/Electric Components years / 100,000 Hybrid/Electric Components miles, 5 Roadside Assistance years / Unlimited Roadside Assistance miles and 3 Maintenance years / 36,000 Maintenance miles. Key competitors to the Hyundai Elantra are the Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Subaru Impreza, Volkswagen Jetta and the new Kia compact sedan named K4 is set to replace the Forte for 2025.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra HEV Limited is a great find, considering the size, safety and comfort of the vehicle. The model that we tested came in at $30,810.00, which is a bargain at the way vehicles are being priced now.

The entire family had a great time riding around town in the 2024 Hyundai Elantra checking out the landscape and art murals.  The Elantra is spacious, stylish, comfortable and definitely a cool vehicle in my book. Enjoy the photo gallery.
