The Heritage and Heritage Limited editions pay homage to the original 1966 Bronco with unique styling cues. The Heritage models come in two or four door versions along with manual or automatic transmissions, paired to four or six cylinder engines. The Heritage Edition model as indeed a tribute to the original Bronco vehicles that roamed the countryside. Ford will build just

1,966 units of each Heritage Limited Edition model to commemorate the year the original

Bronco debuted and we were able to get our chance to review one.

Upon first look, you will notice a “Bronco” and a “bucking horse” emblem on the tailgate. The Heritage Edition also has a white-painted grille with red “FORD” lettering and white-painted wheels. The model that we tested came in Robin’s Egg Blue. The Sasquatch package on the Heritage model is a blend of retro styling and enhanced off-road capability. This package includes features like 35-inch rugged tires that provide superior traction and ground clearance. There are high-clearance fender flares to accommodate the larger tires and protect the vehicle’s body from damage during off-roading.

The 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage interior emphasizes ruggedness. The seats are upholstered with plaid cloth seats in navy/onyx. This material is chosen for its durability and ease of cleaning after off-road adventures. The Heritage comes standard with heated front seats for added comfort in cooler conditions. You will also notice a white dashboard and throwback “Bronco” script logos carry the retro theme into the cabin

The Bronco features a powerful 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine producing 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The transmission includes trail control and trail turn assist for enhanced off-road capabilities It’s designed for a balance of power and fuel efficiency, with an EPA-estimated 17 mpg in the city, 17 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg combined.

There are seven G.O.A.T-Modes to help drivers navigate inclement conditions including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand modes, as well as Mud/Ruts and Rock-Crawl modes available on the Badlands series. This model Bronco also has a specialized suspension system to handle challenging terrain. The High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS) system with Bilstein dampers provides enhanced handling and stability both on and off-road. I felt the Bronco had a great ride and handled the roads well.

The Bronco Infotainment system features a 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system featuring a touchscreen with swipe capability and enhanced voice recognition. It also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a connected voice-activated navigation system, and SiriusXM with 360L. Safety is important as well with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced driver-assist technologies is standard across the lineup, including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.

The 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage is purpose-built for tackling challenging off-road terrain. Ford provides a competitive limited and powertrain warranty but still lacks the complimentary maintenance. The 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage comes with a standard Ford basic warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The powertrain warranty extends to 5 years or 60,000 miles. Ford also offers an extended warranty plan called Ford Protect PremiumCARE that can cover repairs for up to 10 years or 175,000 miles. Please enjoy the photo gallery.
