Although originally planned for a live launch at the New York Auto Show in April, Ford revealed the new model virtually that included a Bronco two-door, first-ever Bronco four-door model and all-new rugged, small SUV, Bronco Sport.
Ford released its sixth generation Bronco for the 2021 model year, after a 25-year hiatus of the Bronco nameplate.
This four door SUV can be reconfigured as a convertible. The doors can also easily be removed. The Bronco’s doors are frameless and the doors can be carried in dedicated covers, within the vehicle, while riding door-less.
Upon first look, you will notice a “Bronco” and a “bucking horse” emblem on the tailgate. The Everglades model that we tested screams off road. There is a Factory-installed Snorkel, the Ford Performance by WARN Bronco winch kit, Unique bolt-on front and rear fenders are included. The Everglades model features unique Everglades Bodyside Graphics, steel bash plates and rock rails for underbody protection during off-road adventures. This Bronco sits on 35-inch LT315/70R17 BSW Mud-Terrain tires mounted on 17-inch Carbonized Gray-painted alloy wheels. There are also two front tow hooks and one rear tow hook are included for recovery situations. The Bronco has LED headlamps with LED Signature Lighting and automatic high beams.
The 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades interior emphasizes ruggedness. The seats are upholstered with standard Marine Grade Vinyl in a Dark Space Gray with Black Onyx color scheme. This material is chosen for its durability and ease of cleaning after off-road adventures. The Everglades comes standard with heated front seats for added comfort in cooler conditions. I did not like that the Everglades model came with Manual Adjustment seats. The MOLLE panels are located behind the driver and front passenger seats, providing secure storage and organization options for gear. There is also a practical slide-out tailgate, which is especially useful for tailgating or outdoor activities
The Bronco features a powerful 2.3L EcoBoost engine producing 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The transmission includes trail control and trail turn assist for enhanced off-road capabilities It’s designed for a balance of power and fuel efficiency, with an EPA-estimated 20 city/22 highway/21 combined mpg.
There are seven G.O.A.T-Modes to help drivers navigate inclement conditions including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand modes, as well as Mud/Ruts and Rock-Crawl modes available on the Badlands series. I felt the Bronco had a great ride and handled the roads well.
The Bronco Infotainment system features a 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system featuring a touchscreen with swipe capability and enhanced voice recognition. It also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a connected voice-activated navigation system, and SiriusXM with 360L. Safety is important as well with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced driver-assist technologies is standard across the lineup, including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.
The 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades is purpose-built for tackling challenging off-road terrain. Ford provides a competitive limited and powertrain warranty but still lacks the complimentary maintenance. The 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades comes with a standard Ford basic warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The powertrain warranty extends to 5 years or 60,000 miles. Ford also offers an extended warranty plan called Ford Protect PremiumCARE that can cover repairs for up to 10 years or 175,000 miles. The model that we tested comes in at $57,775.00 Please enjoy the photo gallery.
