We continued our tradition of tailgate parties during all home games for the 2024 NFL season at Northwest Stadium, home of the Washington Commanders. From little league up to the Pros, no football game is complete without a proper tailgate party. Ford was gracious enough to make our tailgate festivities complete with the 2024 Ford Ranger.
The parking lot is the stage for fans to come together and celebrate the game with music, good food, beverages and jokes. As usual, tailgating is a fun experience for all involved to prepare for the impending and exciting match about to take place. During this time there was a lot of conversation about how the Ford trucks are one of the top prospects for anyone in the market for a truck.
The 2024 Ford Ranger comes with a 2.3-liter ecoboost engine. This turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. There is not much lag in the 10-speed automatic transmission. The Ranger came in the supercrew XLT trim which includes front fog lamps, LED head and taillights, a sculpted hood, 17” aluminum wheels, and built-in side steps. The model we received came in a Velocity Blue Metallic hue. I can see why we routinely received comments like “That must be fun to drive”.
The 2024 Ford Ranger is not just a pickup truck. It is comparable to a luxury car with a bed for a trunk. This Ranger was outfitted with the 6-speaker sound system, gauge cluster with 8” color display, a12” vertical touchscreen, Bluetooth, navigation, Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an Alexa interface.
Patrons got in and out of the Ranger agreeing that it was built tough enough to handle large workloads, and was spacious when it came to the cabin size. Everyone noticed how cargo space was not a concern being that the model we tested came with ample cabin space for people and their cargo, as well as a truck bed with multiple smart tie-down points and even 120V power output. We also had the Advanced Towing package that added a trailer brake controller and Ford’s Pro Trailer Backup Assist. All great features to assist loading up grills, tables, chairs, coolers and more.
The Ranger served as the centerpiece of discussion during the event. Local TV station NBC Sports Washington came out, while Radio One station, Majic 102.3 supplied the tunes that everyone could groove to. The crowd was festive and ready to cheer on their respective teams. We are looking forward to more tailgate parties with Ranger next year. Enjoy the photo gallery.
