We continued our tradition of tailgate parties during all home games for the 2024 NFL season at Northwest Stadium, home of the Washington Commanders. From little league up to the Pros, no football game is complete without a proper tailgate party. Toyota is now the Official Automotive Partner of the NFL and was gracious enough to make our tailgate festivities complete with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road.
The parking lot is the stage for fans to come together and celebrate the game with music, good food, beverages and jokes. As usual, tailgating is a fun experience for all involved to prepare for the impending and exciting match about to take place. During this time there was a lot of conversation about how the Toyota trucks are one of the top prospects for anyone in the market for a truck. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road comes with an i-FORCE 2.4L 4 cylinder Turbocharged engine. There is not much lag in the 8-speed automatic when shifting in normal mode but smooths out in sport mode. The Tacoma has long been acclaimed for its baja feel. The high lift, big tires, slim body, and powerful athletic stance typically garner comments like “That must be fun to drive”.
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road is not just a pickup truck. It is comparable to a luxury car with a bed for a trunk. This Tacoma was outfitted with the JBL Premium Audio system, 14” media display, blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, power open/close tailgate, heated and cooled leather ventilated bucket front seats, navigation and LED headlights with DRL and Fog Lights.
Patrons got in and out of the Tacoma agreeing that it was built tough enough to handle large workloads, but was tight when it came to cabin space. The truck is a decent size but rear seat passengers will need to be young kids, otherwise they are likely to have an uncomfortable ride. The tech features in the Tacoma rivaled the luxury sedans that most use as daily drivers. Everyone noticed how cargo space was not a concern being that the model we tested came with the TRD Off-Road Premium Package which has the 5ft bed. This was essential being that we had to load up grills, tables, chairs, coolers and more.
