2025 brought in the fifth-generation of the Ford Expedition was revealed on October 3, 2024. The Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV produced by Ford Motor Company since 1997. The model that was delivered to us for review was the 4×4 Tremor Edition. This is one of their premiere trims so I was excited to get a chance to review all it had to offer.
Upon first look you notice the Expedition had a beautiful stone blue metallic paint job. There is a blacked-out Ford logo on the matte gray and glossy black grille. The Expedition has signature LED daytime running lamps and Expedition written across the hood. The 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor edition has a rugged, off-road look. The Expedition is sitting on 18-inch Dark Carbonized Gray-painted aluminum wheels that have the Electric Spice accents. The 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires really set it off.
The interior of the Expedition was spacious and luxurious. The Expedition can seat 7 or 8 people. Our model for review came with ActiveX leather upholstery in a black onyx and electric spice (gold/orange) trim. It also has including options for heated and ventilated, power-adjustable front seats with massage functionality. The second-row included a 40/20/40 bench, while the third row is a 60/40 Power Fold bench.
The 2025 Ford Expedition features a 24-inch panoramic display that is crazy. It spans across the entire dash, adding to the futuristic look of the interior. Ford’s Digital Experience infotainment system features a 13.2-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, USB ports, satellite radio, premium stereo system, a Wi-Fi hot spot and wireless device charging. The 10-speaker B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen, including the subwoofer, came as the premium audio system. The sound quality was very impressive.
The Tremor model of the Expedition that I reviewed runs with a high output 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 putting down 440-horsepower and 510 lb-ft. of torque. This is a great amount of power that pushes this beast to its limits. The model tested has 4-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Expedition has a very smooth ride overall. It gets up to speed fairly quickly and floats like a boat while you are cruising. Sharp turns will give you some body roll, but that is expected in a vehicle this size. The brakes were efficient and stopped the Expedition with more than enough safe distance between vehicles.
I thoroughly enjoyed the BlueCruise hands-free highway driving feature. At first, I was extremely apprehensive to give it a shot, but once I did, a smile came across my face. The BlueCruise feature handles the steering, braking, and acceleration on many highways across the US. The vehicle will send out a notification when the feature is able to be used. These are called Blue Zones. The hands-free lane changes kicked on when the I initiated the turn signal. The Expedition uses an infrared camera to make sure the driver’s eyes remain on the road. A notification pops up and tells you this. This was a fun feature to experience.
Ford considers safety a top priority with Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 that provides advanced driver-assistance, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with trailer coverage, lane-keeping, and evasive steering. The safety features continue with pre-collision warning and braking system with pedestrian detection, rear cross traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors and a rearview camera.
The Ford Expedition sits in a highly competitive class, amongst the Jeep Wagoneer, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, Toyota Sequoia and the Nissan Armada. Ford covers the Expedition with 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance, 5 years or 60,000 mile safety restraint system warranty and a 5-year/unlimited-mile corrosion coverage. The Tremor edition Expedition that I reviewed comes in at $86,195.00.
I had a great time in the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor edition. Overall, it is a solid vehicle that surely hits the nail on the head in terms of comfort and being able to handle the elements of bad weather. Please enjoy my photo gallery.
