The 2025 Ram 2500 Laramie Sport Edition must be considered as one of the toughest trucks on the market. The 2025 Ram 2500 is built for work and pleasure. It is stylish, efficient and ready for work. We were able to take the Ram 2500 4X4 for a week and really get some good seat time with it. This is definitely an attention grabber and ignites the conversation on how this truck separates itself from the tough truck market.
Upon first look you notice the body-colored front bumper with black rub strip/fascia accent, a black rear step bumper, and black side windows and rear window trim. T The Ram Warlock trim receives a Sport appearance package, which includes 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, a sport performance hood and a center hub. The model we received came in a Granite Crystal Metallic hue. With all of this packaged up, I can see why we routinely received comments like “That must be fun to drive”. The 2025 Ram 2500 has a regular box style with a spray-in bed liner, a steel spare wheel, and a full-size spare tire stored underbody. The 2500s bed features a load length of 5 feet with pre-stamped slots in the bed sides. There is also a built-in 12-volt electrical circuit, power mirrors, a power tailgate lock, and LED reflector headlamps.
The interior is spacious and nice with the dual bucket seats, featuring ActiveX -trimmed seating, heated front seats, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support, and a six-way adjustable manual passenger seat. The 2500 seats up to five people and has a soft vinyl-wrapped heated steering wheel. Some additional features that I liked were the rear armrest with cup holders, rear under-seat storage bins, ambient lighting, power door locks, and power windows. The 2500’s cabin design is plain but the controls are easy to identify and use. This cab style offers a lot of leg room along with wide door openings to get in and out easily.
The 2025 Ram 2500 Laramie Sport Edition is not just a pickup truck. It is a true work vehicle. This Ram was outfitted with the 17-speaker Harmon Kardon premium sound system, gauge cluster with 12” TFT color display, a 14.4-Inch touchscreen display, media hub with USB ports and a WIFI hot spot.
The 2025 Ram 2500 Laramie Sport Edition comes with the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 engine making 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. There is not much lag in the 8-speed automatic TorqueFlite HD transmission. The gas mileage in the 2500 does not have EPA mileage ratings because heavy-duty trucks are exempt from EPA testing. The 2500 handled well in the city and on rural roads. It is great for commuting and big work jobs.
Safety ratings are mixed on the 2500, with the NHTSA giving the 2025 Ram 2500 a 5-star overall safety rating, 5-star rating for side crash and another 5-star rating for rollover. The 2500 comes equipped with safety systems such as standard forward collision warning with active braking, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and ParkSense front/rear park assist, Available Active Lane Management, adaptive cruise control with stop, drowsy driver detection, standard LED headlamps, 360-degree surround-view camera and trailer reverse steering control.
The 2025 Ram 2500 Laramie Sport Edition has a competitive warranty. The 2025 Ram 2500 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile gas powertrain warranty, and a 5-year/100,000-mile diesel engine warranty. Roadside assistance and corrosion coverage are also included for 5 years/100,000 miles.
In its’ class, the 2500 goes up against trucks such as the Ford F-250 Super Duty, Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, and GMC Sierra 2500 HD. Overall, the 2025 Ram 2500 Laramie Sport Edition is a fun truck that should easily be at the top of any consumers list that requires a truck to handle large jobs and want to ride around in style while doing it. The model that we tested came in at $89,590.00. Please enjoy the photo gallery.
